Chanel Glasses 3181 C1201 Violet

Hey Guys,
I thought I'd do another glasses post...I have yet another pair of glasses in Purple (Violet to be precise) - these are by Chanel - 3181 C1201 in two tone, dark top half and light bottom half. I actually wear contact lenses most days but I really like these glasses. Very comfortable to wear and I like the color - although it doesn't go with everything. Sorry about the awful picture quality (it was taken on my phone) :)

Lancôme Hydra Zen Neurocalm SPF15 Day and Nuit Creams

I'm a huge fan of Lancome products, especially the mascaras and a few months back I purchased a few products and got a gift which included two 15ml pots of the Hydra Zen Neurocalm moisturizing creams. I have to point out that I don't usually use these creams - I flit between No 7 Protect and Perfect and L'Oreal Revitalift. However, I'm currently in America working for 6 months and ran out of my large pot of No 7 so I decided to try out these 15ml pots of Lancome Hydra Zen.

The full titles of these creams are:

1. Hydra Zen Neurocalm SPF 15 - Soothing Anti-Stress Moisturizing Cream Fluid SPF15

"Hydra Zen, skincare that neutralizes the effects of emotional and environmental stress on the skin, soothes and provides comfort to stressed and dehydrated skin."

2.  Hydra Zen Nuit Neurocalm - Soothing Replenishing Night Cream

"The exclusive NeuroCalm™ skin-soothing concept neutralises the effects of emotional and environmental stress on the skin, soothing and replenishing it during the night."

I've been using these creams for a few weeks now and must say they are actually much better than I expected. Many people seem to like the smell, but for me this is the downside to these creams - they smell very floral (rose) and I actually find it very strong. The pots are nice but I'd prefer frosted glass like the No 7 creams. I like the pink though - very cute and looks nice. The cream is also a very pale pink color.
The product itself appears to do what it says - it does feel very calming and soothing and it does a good job at keeping dry skin at bay - something which I seem to suffer with as it gets cooler. I find that this moisturizer causes me to break out quite frequently but my skin is definitely softer than when using No 7 - it also feels a little lighter than the No 7. I also really like the fact that the day cream has SPF15 - as someone with really pale skin this is really a positive for me. It definitely makes my skin glow and it looks more radiant but I don't like the cream as a base for make-up - my foundation doesn't seem to look as good when I have this cream on my skin - maybe the cream makes my skin a bit slippery?
The Nuit/ Night cream is also very good but I've been waking up with my eyes stinging really badly but maybe this is just me putting it way too close to my eye area.

These creams are very pricey - day cream is £38 on the Boots website for 50ml and night cream is £40 for 50ml. I like the creams but I'm really not sure they are worth that amount of money. I really think the No 7 cream is better value for money and it doesn't break me out.
I'm really glad I got to try these creams in 15ml sample size (see picture) but I don't think I'll be re-purchasing...there are creams out there that do just as good a job at a much lower price.

Lancome Eau Micellaire Douceur

I've been wanting to blog about this product for ages....I don't see many reviews of this product but I think its absolutely fantastic.

This is an express cleansing solution for face, eyes and lips - meaning you don't have to use a separate cleanser to remove eye make-up.

On the Lancome website it's described as:

"Express make-up removing efficacy and optimal tolerance in a veil of freshness.
All skin types, even sensitive. Wipe off. A transparent and high potency water gently liberates the skin from impurities and toxins deep inside. Used by make-up artists, the micellar technology allows perfect make-up removal with optimal tolerance in a burst of freshness. It’s extremely gentle formula can even be used to remove eye and lips makeup"

For once I would actually agree 100% with this description, it definitely does what it says! For a long time I used the Dior Purifying Cleansing Milk but I really prefer the Lancome product as it feels like your cleansing your face with a much lighter formula (probably because its water and not a milk or cream).

The only downside to this product is the price as for a 200ml bottle its £21.00 at Boots.com and £34.00 for a 400ml. I use this product every day so I purchase the 400ml bottle - this lasts me about 5-6 months on average, using a cotton pad and 2-3 pumps of liquid to remove all make-up, depending on how heavy it is. The product cleanses and tones so I factor this in when justifying the cost. I used to use face wipes and I found these difficult to remove eye make-up - in contrast, this product glides over the eyes and removes all make-up even gel eyeliner and waterproof mascara, ensuring I don't wake up in the morning with panda eyes. I also have really sensitive skin and I'm prone to major break-outs if a product is too scented or heavy. This product smells nice (quite rosy but very pleasant) and is very sensitive on the skin - it doesn't at all clog my pores like the Dior cleansing milk did. Using this product really speeds up my morning and evening routines, which is always a bonus!
I'm not sure how well this product would work for someone with quite oily skin though (mine tends to lean on the dry side), it does make my skin look very dewy (which I actually like) giving me the perfect base to then apply my moisturizer and foundation - but if you have oily skin it may make you look quite greasy when applying make-up afterwards. I take this product everywhere with me - putting some liquid in travel size bottles for holidays. Its also great for removing make-up quickly after a late night. This truly is a great product, which I'm so glad to have found - gentle and very refreshing!

Overall, its a really effective product which feels nice on the skin but it is very pricey!

Estee Lauder Pure Color Nail Lacquer 09 Tempting Melon

It's been two years since my last post but I've decided to continue with this blog as my cosmetics bag grows and grows.
One of my favorite nail polishes is Estee Lauder's Pure Color Nail Lacquer in shade 09 Tempting Melon....its such a gorgeous color, especially for spring/ summer.
My nails take a real hammering, especially with typing on a keyboard so frequently but this nail polish seems to last quite a while (4-5 days without chipping). Usually my nail polish starts to chip after half a day so pretty good. In the picture, the polish has been on my nails already for 4 days :) My nails aren't in good condition at the moment, sorry! :)
This melon color is a subtle coral (more pinky than most of these shades) but I absolutely love it.

I'm looking forward to purchasing a few more of these nail polishes in different shades and I'll update as I purchase them...
